Their passion for building God’s House began early, faithfully volunteering in their local church as young people in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After serving for many years, John became the college pastor at his local church until he and Leslie moved to Kenya, Africa as missionaries. They’ve kept with them a passion for the next generation and have always had a vision to see young people leading in church and in their spheres of influence. The Axis Nation Youth Conference was birthed out of that desire and heart and Pastors John & Leslie continue to make room for young people in everything they do. SPEAKERS Chris Durso Chris Durso and his wife, Yahris, are the youth pastors at Misfit NYC, where together with their team passionately lead the next generation of New York City every Friday night from Christ Tabernacle church in Queens, NY. At Misfit NYC, they seek to make the truth of Jesus Chris famous, relevant, and attractive. Every Friday, their team of young people pursues this goal through their talents and gifting’s used in the countless ministry opportunities offered at Misfit NYC. For the past three years, Misfit NYC has hosted Misfit The Conference throughout NYC. At conference, speakers, leaders, and Misfits from all over the world join the team for a weekend of growth, networking, and fun all in the name of Jesus, making him known. While Misfit The Conference is always a life changing experience for Misfits from all corners of the earth, at Misfit NYC, they don’t just exist for a conference once a year. They live and serve for every and any opportunity to reach the youth around them, especially on a Friday night. Christine Caine Christine Caine is an Australian born, Greek blooded, lover of Jesus, activist, author and international speaker. Her primary passion is to make Jesus’ last command her first priority by giving her all to see the lost saved and to build the local church – globally. In 2015, they also founded Propel Women, an organization designed to honor the calling of every woman, empower her to lead, equip her for success and develop a sense of God-given purpose. Powered by hot, extra-dry, skinny, cappuccinos, Christine is a lover of words who speaks too fast, talks too much, and also writes them down.
